Weekend with the Pullmanns

It had been too long since Sam and I got out of Ohio. We have been spending most of our weekends cleaning out his grandma's house (she's in a nursing home) and working long hours. We both needed a break, so we took Monday off to make a 3-day weekend and headed to Maryland to visit the Pullmanns.

We took the 350Z because it was the only that trip that car was ever going to take as our little family will soon be expanding. The weather wasn't going to be amazing, but we did not expect this snowstorm in West Virginia.
I was a little worried we would get stuck because so many other people had slid off the road, but Sam exhibited his superior driving skills and navigated a 300 hp, rear-wheel drive convertible through the mountains.

On Sunday, Joy, Ransom, Sam and I went to the natural history museum on the capital mall. Ransom had a great time looking at all the people and exhibits. I enjoyed the model of the mammals and dinosaurs.

The orchid exhibit was also beautiful and smelled amazing. It made me want to try growing more orchids.

Monday was a really amazing day weather wise. We all went to a nearby state park and walked around the reservoir. Poor Nathan carried Ransom (20+ lbs!) all the way around the lake.

Sam and I left for home from there and said good-bye to the Pullmanns. I think we were all needed a break from the work-home-dinner-bed schedule (and the extra vitamin D didn't hurt either). I even came home with a little sunburn because we were able to drive several hours with the top down. I came back to work refreshed and recharged. I think I can hold out until the babymoon in May.
